I love sharing my wealth of knowledge with anyone who needs it and I particularly enjoy developing courses, providing curriculum support for students with additional needs (SEND or gifted and talented), delivering staff training, conducting educational research and anything else education related!

Working with Schools and Education Settings
I work with schools, colleges, specialist provisions and education groups to support inclusive practice, curriculum development and creative problem-solving.
The type of support I can offer includes (but is not limited to):
reviewing learning materials or current provision
advising on inclusive curriculum planning
developing literacy or creative-thinking resources
supporting staff with SEND and SEMH approaches or behavioural concerns
contributing an independent perspective on learner engagement
helping teams adapt teaching for a wider range of abilities

Working with Parents / carers
I offer independent education consultancy for parents who would value a clear, informed and supportive perspective on their child’s education.
This may include discussing a child’s strengths and needs, reviewing current support, helping parents with their child’s educational needs, identifying possible barriers to learning and exploring practical ways to improve engagement, confidence and progress.
I am always happy to give parents or carers a helping hand with their child’s education, so they are better informed and can make clear, constructive, realistic choices. I am particularly strong with students aged 14 and over who are struggling with their current educational setting, who may have SEND or SEMH or behavioural needs or are gifted and talented. Supporting Children and Young People with SEND
I have a lot of experience working with autistic learners and with children and young people who have additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health needs.
My approach is calm, strengths-based and individualised. With the parent, carer or teacher, I carefully investigate the learner’s communication, sensory needs, confidence, interests, emotional well-being and previous educational experiences, rather than focusing only on perceived difficulties. Every child can be a student: it just sometimes takes a creative teacher to help them find their way.
I enjoy helping families and education settings consider suitable adjustments including different learning approaches that may help reduce anxiety and promote engagement with the required learning objectives. I can also advise on individualised strategies to help learners feel safe, understood and able to participate.
Working with Gifted and Talented Learners
Having gained degrees from the University of Oxford (MSt) and the University of Warwick (PhD), I have experience working with many gifted and talented students. I am particularly interested in finding innovative pedogogical approaches that broaden a student’s creative thinking and thought processes beyond just simply being given extra work. By developing approaches that focus on providing students with new learning opportunities, my aim is to ensure that they gain the independence, confidence and intellectual challenges they need to succeed.
I am always happy to advise parents and education settings on ways to provide appropriate challenge without creating unnecessary pressure. This may include enrichment activities, independent projects, higher-order questioning, cross-curricular learning and creative-thinking programmes.
